Support Sophia
Since 1991 Sophia has had the generous support of the Dominican Sisters. The beautiful building was financed by them and every year since they have contributed substantial funds towards the running of Sophia.
Alongside this ongoing commitment, the Sophia community generates an income from course fees, subscriptions, donations, hire of the premises and special events. This covers much of the day to day running costs of Sophia which have increased each year.
Sophia aims to become financially self-sufficient by the year 2010 and you are invited to contribute to the capital fund which has been established with that aim in mind. By building the capital fund it will provide an investment income by 2010 sufficient to support Sophia’s core activities, some of which are currently financed by the Dominican Sisters. These include:
- Maintenance of building and garden
- Insurance costs.
Whatever your connection to Sophia, please consider how you might contribute to the growth of Sophia’s self-sufficiency, to ensure the long term future of Sophia.
You can help support Sophia financially by giving:
- One off gifts and donations
- Regular donations eg. monthly
- An interest-free loan to a capital secure fund
- A bequest
- Larger tax deductible donations to the Sophia Library Gift Fund.
